General Motors is back in action as a publicly traded company, signaling the end of the era in which the automotive empire relies on federal bailout funds and assistance. On Thursday morning at the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange, GM opened under an IPO price of $33.00 per share.
By 11:00AM the stock had already risen more than 7.5% to over $35.50 per share on a volume of 224 million trades.
